The Immortal Mark eBook Amy Sparling Reviews
I’m new to Amy Sparling’s books, but the amount of work she has to offer is insane. She wrote this book in a seriously short period of time, but it was done well. I got to know Cara, understood why she jumped at the opportunity to leave her Texan town, and I was left wanting more when I turned the last page.
Sparling drew out the beginning of the book a tad, but it made sense why later. It had a contemporary feel, but I knew something paranormal was afoot. The paranormal danced with the normal. Cara’s struggles, her sudden homelessness, and a tight bond with her best friend she met through foster care intermingled with the mysterious Rosewood Clan—ehmm, Industries—and gave it a more realistic feel. Strange, considering there was nothing realistic about the predicament that Cara finds herself in.
Firstly, I liked her character. There were moments when she got on my nerves, but overall she was strong and resilient. Unlike her best friend, Riley, she had a firm grasp on reality. I didn’t understand how she would be so okay with going along with everything that the men in the clan were saying, considering her predisposed wariness when it came to anyone she hadn’t know for her entire life. Still, because of the circumstances thrown at her at such a delicate time in life, her moxie and determination couldn’t be trifled with.
Be warned insta-love ensues. Since The Immortal Mark screams unlikely circumstances, I’ll let it slide. (I also adored Theo.) Well, I adored him when he wasn’t being a jerk and sticking his foot in his mouth. As long as he kept on smirking and smiling like the world owed him a service, I loved him. Also, his devotion to Cara sung highly of his character. I’m interested to see where their relationship goes and if it will be able to stand the test of the time that they have with one another.
There was a lot of build-up to the climax of the story—almost too much. Though I am a fan of contemporary, so I didn’t mind the paranormal taking a backseat to the backstory and romance. I’m a kissing book person so all those kisses were my favorite parts. The threat to those kisses enthralled me, and I can’t wait for the next book.
If you love contemporary with a dash of something otherworldly, this is a wonderful book to check out. Amy Sparling has a great writing style and sucks you into the story. Can I have the next book yet?
I love Amy Sparling's books! I'm excited about this new series. It was new and different from everything else she's ever written. Good start!
Different is refreshing, I just wish there would have been more back story into the immortals. But overall a good book!

Just when you think you have read everything out there about immortality along comes The Immortal Mark. It is one of the better new books I have read this year. No vampires, werewolves, or witches in this story but is awesome nonetheless.
I never discuss the books I read with my husband, unless the idea is good and I really like the book. I told him all about this one.
I loved this book. The plot is unlike anything I've ever read before. Very interesting and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
